I have always been fascinated about moving camera techniques. How can one make a boring scene come alive? I took up stabilizer operation 4 years ago and never looked back. The learning curve has been long and difficult. Although I consider my shots to be usable for most of the time, I always felt something was missing. After a long struggle, i finally decided to make this 11,000 miles journey to learn from the great masters themselves.
It is Day 4 of 6 with gruelling 9hr shoots daily with 15-20kg rigs on our tired bodies. Steadicam operation is not only physical, it is mental. A lot of techniques, initiative and creativity is required to execute a shot to tell a story. I am so fortunate to have the support my family and others, to make my way here. I am truly glad to have made this journey, knowing that life would never be the same again.
BTW, i am the first Singaporean wedding guy to have made it here. (Ok they remember only 2 Singaporeans have attended this trg but i know there are some other pro guys that said they attended many years ago)
