Nandakumar + Yunmin Wed

LOC: Raffles Hotel / OCC
PG: Bryan (The Galleria) / Chris Woon (MoretoPurple)

This was our first Hindu wedding. It was great fun having to get back into shooting after almost 2 mths of break. Day 1 was totally Chinese and day 2 Indian. It was truly an honour to be part of the couple’s big day n these guys ROCK (not to mention Nanda’s super hilarious pals) =)

Joshua + Joanne SDE

PG: Derrick Ong
LOC: Goodwood Park

We covered their solemnization last year and it was a pleasure to meet them again. It was a pretty exciting video with very nice locations and a beautiful day. The SDE was fraught with difficulties though due to our team mates falling sick and getting mobilised! I was left with a one man show towards the end but the response of the crowd was worth it with all the screams =) Joshua & Joanne, all the best!

Barry + Jingqi SDE

PG: Kwang (Lightbox)
LOC: Goodwood Park

We had great fun yesterday as usual. The wedding was well planned and had a very nice pace. Jing’s family is very close and friendly, making it very easy to work. As always our belief was the wedding isn’t about the couple only, and really a family matter. It was interesting to note all the different people’s activities during various parts of the day. Jing is one bubbly bride while Barry was very sporting. The bonus was Barry is media trained so he knew exactly the limitations of cinematography which made our lives a lot easier. Thanks!

5DIII Arrives!!

The long awaited 5DMkIII finally arrives.. 4 years on. Is it worth the upgrade? YES!!! Take note, the ISO range is now up to 25,000!!! We now have a nice headphone monitoring jack finally. The reduced moire and jello should rock too. Having had a go at the 1Dx, I’m confident the low light improvement alone is worth the upgrade. F2.8 lens are suddenly a lot more useable. Although the price is a little steep at SGD4500, it is astill justifiable comparing to a $20K C300. Would be a no brainer if the C300 was $10K but alas!

Copyright Music UPDATE 2012

So it has been 2 years now since the regretful music copyright infringement sweep of the wedding industry. Since then many service providers have had a clear avenue to pay for copyright music BUT, there was no linkage between the 3 agencies which led to several different practices. Starting from 2012, we finally see 2 agencies integrating their payment into one. That would mean, no escape!! For those who wanna live in the daylight, you now get to apply for 2 licences under one body. Just to recap the licences required to play a video at a banquet:

1. Mechanical Rights
2. Syncronisation Rights
3. Performance Rights

1 & 2 are co owned by RIPS and MPS to cut the story short. These licences are must have for videographers. You are almost totally covered as long as these 2 licences are applied. The performance rights licence would depend on individual companies. Rightfully, the video company only produces the work, hence it is not the company’s responsibility with regards to public performance. Hope this solves the puzzle.

One SMALL problem thou, the new MPS licence price is ????
(PS: Likely to be SGD1500 from historical pricing but RIPS should take a cut so the price should be even higher)

Couples, if you intend to do your own montage you only have to go to RIPS + COMPASS.

Danny + Jamie // Forever Love Song

This is a very sweet story and Danny’s determination to win Jamie is commendable. We were a little apprehensive when Danny approached us with his own script. After reviewing, we decided to break our previous style to make an attempt into new boundaries. The script was eventually adapted to what it is. This piece is our longest pre wed video to date but it was quite a breeze as they were very natural in front of the cameras. We absolutely dig their voice over (with their superiority in mandarin and smoothing voices it is really hard to beat!!)

Kudos to Yu Hsin (Mr Tinydot) and Wilson for being the gaffer/soundman under such tight notices.
This is truly a breakthrough from comfort zone and we are very inspired.

Keith + Jingjing Surprise Proposal

LOC: Clark Quay

Well I was really glad that Keith got us to cover his daring proposal. Holding up a bridge in the middle of busy Clark Quay and performing in front of hundreds is not for everyone. It turned out really well (despite us not really knowing what JingJing looked like). We had loads of fun! Hang in there for the video!

Julius + Eleena Highlights

PG: Kelvin Koh (Lighted Pixels)
LOC: Amara Sanctuary Sentosa

This is one FUN gatecrash. Next time we better be in trunks…

Marcus + Yvonne Interview

Tired of the usual photo montage, we came up with a sweet interview piece for them. Their SDE was a collaboration with Filming Art of WCG. Nice to have some team work once in a while!
